Join us Saturday January 16th, 8pm, at The Coronado for the first Classic Simpsons Trivia of the year!
Our special guest will be noted poet and Simpsons Expert, The Klute! We’ve got a special solo contest cooked up that he’ll be judging, as well as the usual food, fun, and games. It’s free, The Coronado has just expanded their menu, and there’s a full bar and espresso service!

In November, for the last show of 2015, FLIM Springfield christened our new home for Phoenix’s Classic Simpsons Trivia contest, the lovely Coronado!
Diana, Alex, and myself held court outside on their patio. There was a full house, and the night was not cold, but very cool–if you get my drift…
Our special guest was Ashley Naftule, a writer, actor, performance artist, comedian, and one of the principal contributors at SPACE 55 (which you’ll remember hosted Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play a while back). Ashley is a heck of an entertainer, and an adventurous spirit.
The Simpsons has a history of mocking bad psychics and fortune tellers. For our mid-trivia solo contest, Ashley challenged the audience to catch the signals he was sending out as a genuine Reverse Psychic. If you were the first person to correctly guess the quote he was thinking, corresponding to the famous Simpson scene he was holding up, you won a personalized Frank Grimes pencil, and the screen-cap poster too!
Everyone had a great time
Here’s a sample of some of the questions we asked
(highlight in between the parentheses to get the answer)
What is Mr. Burns first name? (Charles)
For a Valentine’s Day surprise, Ned dresses in a heart costume and serenades Maude with a sanitized version of this song. (Rod Stewart’s Do Ya Think I’m Sexy)
What’s the first thing that’s ever gone wrong at Itchy & Scratchy land?
(the mispronunciation of the world POSSIBLY)
What’s Homer’s favorite song in the Jukebox at Moe’s? (It’s Raining Men)
If you can handle those questions, why note get a team together and join us next Saturday January 16th? We’re looking forward to another “groovy” year of Simpsons themed tomfoolery.
